The Council of the Center for Development and Quality Assurance (CAQA) at Sana\u2019a University \u200econvened its regular meeting today, Tuesday, June 3, 2025, chaired by the Center\u2019s Dean, Prof. Huda Ali \u200eAl-Emad, and with the participation of council members. The meeting falls within the framework of the \u200euniversity\u2019s ongoing efforts to advance the academic and research quality system.\u200e
\nProf. Al-Emad commenced the session with welcoming remarks, extending her congratulations to the \u200eattendees on the blessed days of Dhu Al-Hijjah, and wishing them continued success in their academic \u200eand administrative roles.\u200e
\nDuring the session, The Council addressed several key issues, including reports submitted by committees \u200eassigned by the CAQA and Vice-Rector\u2019s Office for Graduate Studies to review and verify the data \u200ereceived from the faculties \u2014particularly the files of graduate students enrolled in the affiliated faculties \u200eand centers. The Council also reviewed the reports of the Academic Integrity Committees concerning \u200etheses submitted by students in preparation for final defense procedures.\u200e
\nThe Dean emphasized the vital role of Deputy-Deans for Quality in monitoring and evaluating academic \u200eand research submissions from their respective faculties. She stressed the need to activate their functions \u200eas internal assessors and experts. This will ensure procedural integrity and content quality, and address \u200eany deficiencies or irregularities prior to submission to the CAQA and the Vice-Rector\u2019s Offices for \u200eGraduate Studies and Student Affairs.\u200e
\nThe Council also addressed the ongoing process of updating undergraduate programs and highlighted the \u200eimportance of aligning such programs with regional, Arab, and international academic benchmarks in \u200eorder to enhance the quality of educational outcomes. In this regard, the Council affirmed the importance \u200eof organizing training workshops within academic departments to support this goal.\u200e
\nFurthermore, the Deputy-Deans for Quality were tasked with reviewing and evaluating the websites of \u200etheir respective faculties and submitting detailed reports outlining key strengths and areas for \u200eimprovement. They were also tasked with following up with faculty members in their departments to \u200eensure uploading and updating of their academic research and final course materials on Google Scholar \u200eplatform at the end of the academic year. \u200e
\nThe meeting concluded with the CAQA\u2019s Dean instructing the Deputy Deans for Quality to monitor the \u200eacademic schedules for both Bachelor and Master’s programs. The purpose of this measure is to maintain \u200ealignment between the academic schedules and the University Council-approved study plans, which in \u200eturn strengthens the educational process and ensures adherence to accreditation standards.\u200e<\/p>\n\n
