The Council of the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences at Sana\u2019a University held its regular meeting under the chairmanship of Professor Khaled Saad Al-Khamesy, Dean of the Faculty, with the participation of the Vice Dean, Heads of Academic Departments, and Council members. The meeting focused on reviewing academic and administrative affairs, discussing agenda items, and making the necessary decisions and recommendations.<\/h3>\n

At the beginning of the meeting, the Council reviewed a number of academic and student-related issues and discussed appropriate solutions to address existing challenges, with the aim of enhancing the quality of education, improving the academic environment, and strengthening the services provided to students.<\/h3>\n

The Council also discussed the proposal to develop two new master\u2019s programs: the Master of Clinical Nutrition and the Master of Physiotherapy. It approved the initiation of the preparation of the academic and reference documents for both programs in accordance with academic standards and accreditation requirements, as a preliminary step toward completing the official approval procedures by the competent authorities.<\/h3>\n

As part of its efforts to advance academic programs, the Council approved the unified academic curricula for the Faculty\u2019s departments, as endorsed by the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, paving the way for their implementation within the Faculty.<\/h3>\n

The Council also reviewed the preparations for admitting the first cohort to the Master of Anesthesia Sciences and the Master of Emergency and Disaster Management programs. It emphasized the importance of completing all academic, administrative, and organizational requirements to ensure the successful launch of both programs and to meet the needs of the healthcare sector.<\/h3>\n

In academic affairs, the Council ratified the minutes of the departmental councils concerning the competitive selection of candidates for the announced academic and faculty positions. The ratification followed the completion of document verification and review procedures in accordance with the applicable regulations, standards, and eligibility criteria, prior to forwarding the recommendations to the competent authorities for the completion of the official procedures.<\/h3>\n

The Council also discussed a number of other academic and administrative issues included on the agenda and adopted the appropriate decisions and recommendations.<\/h3>\n

In preparation for the upcoming academic year, the Council reviewed the Faculty\u2019s plan for organizing the Orientation and Welcome Day for newly admitted students. It emphasized the importance of delivering a comprehensive orientation program introducing students to the Faculty\u2019s mission, academic programs, regulations, and student services, thereby facilitating their successful integration into university life from the very beginning.<\/h3>\n

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Dean of the Faculty affirmed that the Faculty Council remains committed to working collaboratively toward achieving the Faculty\u2019s strategic objectives, enhancing the quality of education, and expanding postgraduate programs in a well-planned manner, in line with Sana\u2019a University\u2019s vision and its mission of preparing highly qualified healthcare professionals capable of serving society and meeting labor market needs.<\/h3>\n
