Tuesday, August 18, 2026 (5 Rabi\u2019 al-Awwal 1448 AH)\u200e<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fourth-level students in the Bachelor\u2019s Program in Radiology and Diagnostic Medical \u200eImaging at the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, Sana\u2019a University, held a scientific \u200eseminar today addressing the latest technologies used in the diagnosis and treatment of \u200ecancer, as well as applications of artificial intelligence in radiology and diagnostic medical \u200eimaging. The seminar was organized as part of the program\u2019s academic and scientific \u200eactivities and its efforts to keep pace with rapid developments in the field.\u200e<\/strong><\/p>\n

The seminar reviewed a number of modern techniques used in the treatment of certain \u200etumors, most notably cryoablation and radiofrequency ablation (RFA). The students \u200eexplained the principles underlying these techniques and their clinical applications, as well \u200eas the role of medical imaging in identifying tumors, planning and guiding therapeutic \u200eprocedures, and monitoring treatment outcomes.\u200e<\/strong><\/p>\n

The students also addressed applications of artificial intelligence in radiology and medical \u200eimaging and its growing role in analyzing medical images, assisting in the detection and \u200eclassification of certain pathological changes, improving workflow efficiency, and \u200esupporting clinical decision-making. They emphasized the importance of using AI as an \u200eassistive tool for specialists rather than as a substitute for physicians\u2019 expertise and clinical \u200ejudgment.\u200e<\/strong><\/p>\n

The presentations further explored recent developments in image-guided therapeutic \u200einterventions and highlighted the importance of advanced imaging technologies in \u200esupporting accurate diagnosis, planning therapeutic procedures, and monitoring patients\u2019 \u200eresponses to treatment.\u200e<\/strong><\/p>\n

The seminar was attended by Prof. Khaled Saad Al-Khamisi, Dean of the Faculty of \u200eApplied Medical Sciences; Dr. Mushtaq Al-Azaizi, Head of the Department of \u200eRadiology and Diagnostic Medical Imaging; and a number of faculty members and \u200eacademic staff.\u200e<\/strong><\/p>\n

Attendees commended the high academic standard of the students\u2019 presentations, \u200eemphasizing the importance of scientific seminars in developing students\u2019 research, \u200epresentation, and discussion skills; linking theoretical knowledge with practical \u200eapplications and modern technologies; and encouraging students to keep pace with digital \u200edevelopments and artificial intelligence in their field of specialization.\u200e<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Dean of the Faculty emphasized the importance of continuing to develop scientific \u200eand research activities and creating an educational environment that keeps pace with \u200edigital transformation and advances in the medical sciences. Such efforts, he noted, \u200econtribute to preparing specialized graduates equipped with the knowledge and skills \u200enecessary to meet future developments in radiology and medical imaging.\u200e<\/strong><\/p>\n

The seminar forms part of the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences\u2019 efforts to foster a \u200eculture of scientific research and lifelong learning, enable students to stay abreast of the \u200elatest scientific and technological developments, and enhance their academic and \u200eprofessional preparedness.\u200e<\/strong><\/p>\n
