About The Department of Language Teaching <\/strong><\/span><\/h3>

The Department of Language Teaching is one of the most important academic departments in the CCTLT which was established with the Center’s inception in 2004. It aims to qualify a distinguished teaching staff, both academically and professionally, to meet the increasing demand for language teaching at the local level. Through its modern, diverse, and specialized programs, along with exceptional, well-qualified, and highly experienced teaching staff, the Department aims to enhance students’ language skills for effective communication in various contexts and efficiently learn their university specializations. Moreover, it seeks to assist students in understanding other cultures and promoting cultural communication in today\u2019s globalized world.<\/h4>

From its inception until 2011, the Department offered a limited number of courses in English Language to qualify the University staff. The course was offered only to a small number of students. Subsequently, English language courses were provided to train employees in various governmental and private institutions in the Capital Secretariat \u2013 Sana\u2019a. The Department expanded its programs to include German language courses and Arabic courses for non-native speakers by\u00a02014. Since the Academic Year 2015\/2016, the Department has experienced steady growth in its educational programs and an increasing number of students enrolling in various foreign languages. Several foreign language units have been approved and established, offering language programs tailored to meet the demands of the labor market. These programs include English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Turkish, Persian, Russian, Chinese, and Korean. Additionally, the Department offers specialized programs, including language courses for specific purposes, international correspondence programs, and Arabic language for non-native speakers.<\/h4>

These programs are designed in accordance with globally recognized quality standards and based on regional and international experiences to meet the needs of students at various levels, from beginners to advanced. Each program includes the most suitable and up-to-date curriculum that aligns with the\u00a0current demands of the\u00a0labor market. This includes theoretical and practical lessons in grammar, morphology, and vocabulary, as well as the development of listening, reading, and writing skills, as well as enhancing communication and conversation skills in both daily and professional contexts.<\/h4>

In addition to its language teaching programs, the Department offers the locally recognized TOEFL test and the English Proficiency Test for Post-graduate Students, both approved by the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research. These tests are designed and conducted in accordance with internationally accepted standards and frames of reference. Besides, the Department regularly administers placement tests in various languages as an integrated part of the teaching-learning process.<\/h4>

Moreover, the Department of Language Teaching boasts a distinguished teaching staff of highly experienced educators specializing in language teaching and modern teaching methodologies. It includes instructors holding BA’s, MA’s, and PhD degrees, who effectively deliver language programs by creating an engaging and stimulating learning environment, employing interactive lessons and lectures, and incorporating modern technology in both teaching and assessing students\u2019 performance.<\/h4>

In addition to the aforementioned programs, the Department regularly offers training workshops in the field of language teaching, modern teaching methodologies, and assessment techniques, conducted by highly experienced and qualified trainers. These workshops are designed to enhance the skills of in-service teachers and trainees, ensuring the continued quality of the educational process within the Department. Moreover, the Department hosts extra-curricular activities including a variety of events, seminars, activities, and competitions for students, all aimed at enriching their language learning experience and providing opportunities for them to practice the target language and exchange linguistic experiences with others.<\/h4>
