Discussion of MA Research Proposal in Translation Presented by the Researcher, Saleh Al-Gwer<\/h3>\n

The Seminar Committee of the Department of Translation and Its Applications at CCTLT held a seminar to discuss the MA research proposal in translation submitted by Mr. Saleh Mohammed Mohammed Al-Gwer, titled:
\nCost Effective Translation Methods Earmarked for Teaching English Medical Texts: A Case Study of First-Year Medicine Students at 21st September University, Yemen
\nThe Seminar Committee comprised the following esteemed professors:
\n– Assoc. Prof. Ibraheem N.A.Tagaddeen
\n– Assoc. Prof. Mujeeb A. Qasim
\n– Dr. Faisal A. Al-Dawli<\/h3>\n

During the seminar, the researcher presented his topic and research plan clearly and in detail, highlighting the significance of employing modern translation methods in teaching English medical texts for medical college students. He elaborated on how these adopted translation methods can enhance students’ comprehension of medical texts and facilitate their learning of the new and complicated medical terms, which originated from Greek and Latin. Furthermore, the researcher identified the existing research gap, outlined the study objectives and questions, and described the mixed-method approach (quantitative and qualitative) that will be utilized to achieve the research objectives.
\nFollowing the presentation, the Seminar Committee engaged in a thorough discussion of the proposal’s components. They commended the researcher’s performance and efforts in preparing the research plan and highlighted the significance of the topic and its expected contribution to the development of medical students’ learning skills at Yemeni universities.They enriched the topic with valuable comments and suggestions to enhance the study’s quality.
\nUltimately, the committee approved the proposed plan and recommended the researcher to consider the remarks and modifications indicated by the committee members for producing a significant research work.<\/h3>\n
