The Seminar Committee of the Department of Translation and its Applications at CCTLT held a seminar on Sunday, 09\/09\/1446 AH, corresponding to 09\/03\/2025, to discuss the Master’s thesis proposal in translation submitted by the researcher, *Sarah Abdh Abdh Qaid Al-Nofaye<\/b>*, titled:
\n_*<\/i>Human vs. AI Translations: A Comparative Study of the English Translations of Selected Arabic Inspirational Quotes<\/i><\/b>*<\/i>_<\/h3>\n

The seminar committee was composed of the following faculty members from the Department:
\nAssoc. Prof. Ibraheem Tagaddeen
\nDr. Abdulwadood Annuzaili
\nDr. Ali Abdullah Al-Ghail<\/h3>\n

During the Seminar, the researcher presented a clear and detailed MA proposal, highlighting the research problem, objectives, questions, and the research methodology. The researcher discussed the growing significance of both human and AI translation in the modern era, particularly in the context of cultural, literary, and inspirational texts. She emphasized the need to investigate the accuracy, acceptability, and stylistic differences between human and AI translations with a special focus on the translation of Arabic inspirational quotes. She also addressed the importance of understanding readers’ responses to these translations, particularly among native English speakers.
\nAfterward, the seminar committee engaged in a detailed discussion of the proposal’s elements and commended the researcher\u2019s efforts. Assoc. Prof. Ibraheem Tagaddeen, the Center’s Director, highlighted the relevance of the topic to the recent developments in translation technology today and emphasized the importance of comparing human and AI translation, especially in a genre that requires both linguistic accuracy and cultural sensitivity. He also emphasized the need to analyze the stylistic choices made by both humans and AI tools in translating such texts and to understand how these choices may influence readers’ perceptions.
\nDr. Abdulwadood Annuzaili, the head of the department, indicated that this comparative study would provide valuable insights into the strengths and weaknesses of both human and AI translation.
\nFinally, the committee approved the research plan and recommended that the researcher make the necessary corrections and revisions in preparation for drafting the thesis.<\/h3>\n
