Sana\u2019a \u2013 Wednesday, October 15, 2025\u200e
\nUnder the auspices of Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, Rector of Sana\u2019a University, \u200ethe Community Center for Translation & Language Teaching (CCTLT) concluded today a \u200especialized English-for-Specific-Purposes (ESP) training program for residents of the Field \u200eEpidemiology Training Program (FETP) at the Ministry of Health and Environment.\u200e
\nThe closing ceremony, which honored the program\u2019s graduates, was attended by Prof. \u200eIbraheem Tagaddeen, the Center\u2019s Director, Dr. Yahya Obeid, Deputy Director, Dr. \u200eAbdulhakim Al-Kuhlani, Director General of the FETP at the Ministry of Health and \u200eEnvironment, and Dr. Labiba Anam, Deputy Director of FETP, along with a number of \u200einstructors and students from the Center.\u200e
\nFunded by the World Health Organization (WHO), the training program was implemented \u200efrom May 11 to September 17, 2025, and was professionally designed to address the specific \u200elanguage needs of the FETP trainees. It focused on English for professional and technical \u200epurposes, aiming to enhance participants\u2019 communication competencies through intensive \u200epractice in listening, fluent speaking, critical reading, and academic writing. The program also \u200estrengthened grammar, presentation, and public speaking skills, enabling trainees to represent \u200eYemen\u2019s health institutions effectively in international conferences and forums.\u200e
\nDuring the ceremony, Prof. Ibraheem Tagaddeen expressed his deep appreciation to the FETP \u200eadministration for its continued confidence in selecting the Center as an accredited training \u200epartner. He emphasized that this trust reflects the high quality of the educational and training \u200eservices the Center provides. He also highlighted the Center\u2019s advanced \u200einfrastructure and highly qualified academic staff, which enable it to deliver high-quality \u200etraining programs tailored to the needs of the community and its institutions. He reaffirmed \u200ethe Center\u2019s continuous commitment to strengthening its strategic partnership with the \u200eMinistry and expanding collaborative efforts.\u200e
\nDr. Abdulhakim Al-Kuhlani praised the quality of training delivered by the Center, noting \u200ethat participants had demonstrated remarkable improvement in their English proficiency and \u200ecommunication skills\u2014an outcome that will positively impact their performance in fieldwork. \u200eHe commended the Center\u2019s management and teaching staff for their dedication and \u200eprofessionalism in ensuring the program\u2019s success. Dr. Al-Kuhlani also noted that the fruitful \u200ecollaboration between Sana\u2019a University, represented by CCTLT, and the Ministry\u2019s Field \u200eEpidemiology Program has already resulted in seven graduating batches of trainees.\u200e
\nAt the end of the ceremony, 12 trainees, who successfully completed the program, were \u200ehonored, along with Dr. Abdulhakim Al-Kuhlani and Dr. Labiba Anam, who received \u200ecertificates of appreciation in recognition of their support and constructive \u200ecollaboration. The event was also attended by Mr. Noah Shoosha, Head of the Language \u200eTeaching Department, as well as representatives of the Training and Qualification Unit and \u200eprogram instructors.\u200e
\nThe Community Center for Translation and Language Teaching at Sana\u2019a University is one of \u200ethe country\u2019s leading institutions offering specialized training programs in language and \u200etranslation.
