As part of its role as a leading, academic, and professional hub and a center of expertise \u200ein translation and language teaching, the Community Center for Translation and \u200eLanguage Teaching (CCTLT) at Sana\u2019a University hosted a specialized field visit for a \u200egroup of twelve students from the Media Program at the University of Science and \u200eTechnology accompanied by Dr. Esam Al-Jawbaei. This visit underscores the Center\u2019s position as a specialized training reference \u200epoint, dedicated to bridging the gap between academic theory and professional practice to meet labor market needs.\u200e<\/p>\n
The visiting students were received by the Center\u2019s Director, Prof. Ibraheem Tagaddeen, \u200ethe Head of the Translation Unit, Dr. Faisal Al-Dawli, and the Public Relations Officer, \u200eMs. Saba Al-Arshani, who welcomed the group and emphasized the importance of such \u200evisits in refining media students\u2019 skills and familiarizing them with modern translation \u200etools, particularly for specialized media translation.\u200e<\/p>\n
During the visit, the Center Director delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining the \u200eCenter\u2019s mission, educational activities, and specialized training programs. He highlighted \u200eits professional translation and language teaching services, as well as its role in preparing \u200emedia and linguistic professionals to meet the needs of contemporary media institutions.\u200e<\/p>\n

Students observed the workflow within the Translation Unit, learning about document \u200eprocessing mechanisms, the nature of tasks undertaken, and the professional challenges \u200etranslators face. They were also introduced to the standards and procedures adopted to \u200eensure the highest levels of translation quality and accuracy.\u200e<\/p>\n
The students were also acquainted with the Center translators\u2019 experiences in the field of media \u200etranslation, including the types of texts and media materials handled and modern \u200etranslation strategies and techniques. Discussions addressed key challenges in translating \u200ejournalistic texts, news reports, and advertising materials.\u200e<\/p>\n
Beyond a general orientation, the visit served as a comprehensive applied learning \u200eexperience. Students were introduced to the Center\u2019s language teaching activities, \u200eadvanced training programs in translation, and competency-building services designed for \u200elearners and professionals across various disciplines.\u200e<\/p>\n
The visit culminated in a short specialized training workshop on \u201cMedia Translation and Its \u200eTechniques.\u201d Led by the Center\u2019s Director with participation from the Head of the \u200eTranslation Unit and senior translators, the workshop explored strategies for processing \u200enews and advertising texts, professional challenges in media translation, and the \u200eintegration of artificial intelligence tools and modern technologies to support and enhance \u200ethe translation process. This reflects the Center\u2019s commitment to keeping pace with global \u200etechnological developments in the field.\u200e<\/p>\n
