to:<br \/>\n\uf02d Explore the main themes, ideological underpinnings, and extralinguistic cultural references embedded in \u200eselected \u200eexamples from The Simpsons, using Critical Discourse Analysis.\u200e<br \/>\n\uf02d Investigate the problems of translating extralinguistic cultural references in the children\u2019s \u200eseries The Simpsons from English into Arabic.\u200e<br \/>\n\uf02d Identify the strategies used in the dubbed Arabic version of The Simpsons, \u200ebased on \u200ePedersen\u2019s (2011) taxonomy of ECR transfer strategies.<br \/>\n\uf02d Assess the translation quality of the dubbed children&#8217;s series The Simpsons from English into Arabic in light of Pedersen\u2019s \u200e(2017) \u200eFAR model of quality assessment.\u200e<\/p>\n<p><img a number of key findings summarized as follows:<br \/>\n\uf02d The primary difficulty in translating extralinguistic cultural references lies in rendering meaning \u200eheavily \u200eembedded in Western culture for a Muslim Arab child audience.\u200e<br \/>\n\uf02d The translation tends to rely on substituting Western cultural references with elements \u200emore compatible with Arab children\u2019s culture.\u200e<br \/>\n\uf02d These challenges are partly attributable to insufficient oversight by regulatory bodies \u200eand \u200etranslation institutions in evaluating content targeting Arab children, as well \u200eas a lack of \u200escholarly research on children\u2019s literature translation.\u200e<br \/>\nIn light of these findings, the researcher recommended the following:<br \/>\n\uf02d Giving greater attention to assessing the quality of translating cultural references in \u200econtent directed at Muslim Arab children.\u200e<br \/>\n\uf02d Strengthening collaboration among translators, educational specialists, and reviewers \u200ewithin cartoon production institutions to ensure culturally and pedagogically \u200eappropriate \u200edubbed versions.\u200e<br \/>\n\uf02d Establishing clear criteria for evaluating the quality of translating cultural references in \u200eanimated works, with due consideration for cultural suitability and semantic \u200eaccuracy.\u200e<br \/>\n\uf02d Encouraging further research on the impact of translators\u2019 cultural choices on shaping \u200ethe \u200eideology of Muslim Arab children across
