The Board of Directors of the Community Center for Translation and Language Teaching \u200e\u200e(CCTLT) at Sana’a University held its first meeting for the year 1448 Hijri(2026-2027), chaired by \u200eProf. Zaid Al-Wareeth. Rector’s Assistant for Centers Affairs, the Acting Chairman of the BoD. The meeting was attended by Prof. Ibraheem Tagaddeen, Director of the Center \u200eand Vice Chairman of the BoD; Dr. Yahya Obeid, Deputy Director of the Center; the \u200eCenter\u2019s advisors; and heads of academic departments.\u200e<\/p>\n

During the meeting, the BoD reviewed the progress of the Center\u2019s educational and \u200eacademic process, as well as its community service activities. It discussed a number of issues in its agenda and took the necessary decisions and measures aimed at enhancing \u200eacademic and administrative performance and further developing the Center\u2019s programs \u200eand activities.\u200e<\/p>\n

With regard to postgraduate studies, the BoD approved the results and \u200erecommendations of the viva-voce committees for two Master\u2019s theses in Translation. \u200eIt also endorsed the formation of viva-voce committees for two additional theses within \u200ethe same program, as part of its efforts to support scientific research and encourage \u200especialized academic studies.\u200e<\/p>\n

The BoD further approved the research proposals submitted by two students \u200eenrolled in the Master\u2019s Program in Translation after they had fulfilled all required \u200eacademic and scientific requirements for thesis writing registration, thereby strengthening the Center\u2019s efforts to \u200eadvance research and improve the quality of postgraduate outputs.\u200e<\/p>\n

As part of its institutional development activities, the BoD approved the final versions \u200eof the updated certificate templates for the Center\u2019s academic programs and foreign \u200elanguage courses. The new certificates are designed to align with academic quality \u200estandards and reinforce the Center\u2019s institutional identity.\u200e<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the BoD discussed several issues related to student affairs and financial and \u200eadministrative matters, approving a number of developmental proposals and procedures. \u200eOne of the most notable topics was a proposal to reduce tuition fees for the Center\u2019s \u200epostgraduate programs, with the aim of expanding access to these programs and \u200eenabling a broader segment of students and researchers to benefit from them.\u200e<\/p>\n

At the end of the meeting, the BoD reaffirmed its commitment to the continuous \u200edevelopment of the Center\u2019s academic, research, and training programs and to enhancing \u200ethe quality of the educational services it provides. These efforts are intended to \u200estrengthen the Center\u2019s academic and community role and contribute to the achievement \u200eof Sana\u2019a University\u2019s mission and objectives.\u200e<\/p>\n\n
