The Community Center for Translation and Language Teaching (CCTLT) at Sana\u2019a University \u200ereceived a field visit yesterday by 40 third-year students from the \u200eDepartment of Translation at the Faculty of Languages, under the supervision of Prof. \u200eMujeeb Qasim, Head of the Department and Faculty Vice Dean. The visit formed part of the Center\u2019s efforts \u200eto strengthen integration between academic training and practical application and to enable \u200estudents to gain first-hand insight into the professional translation workplace and the \u200erequirements of professional practice.\u200e<\/p>\n

\nThe visiting students were received by Prof. Ibraheem Tagaddeen, the Center\u2019s Director, Prof. Abdulwadood Annuzaili ,Head of Translation Department, and \u200eDr. Faisal Al-Dawli, Head of the Translation Unit. They welcomed the delegation and \u200eemphasized the importance of field visits in developing translation students\u2019 skills and linking \u200ethe theoretical knowledge and concepts they acquire in the classroom with practical \u200eapplications and the realities of the labor market.\u200e
\nAt the beginning of the visit, Prof. Tagaddeen delivered an introductory \u200epresentation on the Center\u2019s mission and its academic, training, and professional roles, as well \u200eas its educational and professional development programs in the fields of translation and language \u200eteaching. He also highlighted the specialized translation services provided by the Center to \u200eindividuals and institutions and its role in preparing professionals well-equipped with academic knowledge and professional \u200ecompetence.\u200e<\/p>\n

\nThe students were also introduced to the nature of work carried out by the Center\u2019s \u200eTranslation Unit and gained first-hand insight into the stages involved in executing translation \u200eprojects, beginning with the receipt and analysis of documents, followed by translation, editing, \u200erevising, and proofreading, and culminating in final formatting in accordance with quality \u200erequirements and recognized professional standards.\u200e
\nThe visit also included an overview of the types of specialized documents and translation \u200eprojects handled by the Unit. Discussions addressed some of the key challenges translators \u200eencounter when working with official documents, commercial contracts, and other specialized \u200etexts, as well as introducing the students to the principal professional approaches and \u200etechniques used to process such materials.\u200e<\/p>\n

\nThe Director of the Center emphasized that organizing such visits reflects the Center\u2019s \u200ecommitment to bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and professional practice and to \u200eproviding educational and training opportunities that enable students to gain a real \u200eunderstanding of the profession and its requirements. He noted that such initiatives \u200econtribute to enhancing students\u2019 professional readiness and preparing qualified translators \u200ecapable of meeting the demands of the labor market.\u200e
