Mr. Badr Hassan Mohammed Qaed \u200e<\/strong>was awarded a Master\u2019s Degree in Orthodontics <\/strong>for his thesis titled: Three-Dimensional Evaluation of Transverse Basal Arch Measurement and Molar Inclination in Yemeni Adults<\/em><\/strong>, which was submitted to the Faculty of Dentistry \u2013 Sana\u2019a University. The MA defense was held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The MA Viva-voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The study aimed to:<\/p>\n

  • Evaluate the transverse dimensions of the maxillary and mandibular basal arches using three-dimensional techniques.<\/li>\n
  • Analyze molar inclination and angulation in Yemeni adults and examine their impact on the diagnosis of jaw discrepancies and orthodontic treatment planning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The study employed three-dimensional imaging and digital scanning techniques to measure basal arch width and molar inclination. It adopted a rigorous methodology for sample collection, measurement procedures, and statistical data analysis. It focused on highlighting the clinical value of three-dimensional measurements in orthodontic diagnosis and precise treatment planning.<\/p>\n

    The study yielded a number of key findings summarized as follows:<\/p>\n

    • Three-dimensional techniques demonstrated high accuracy in assessing transverse jaw dimensions compared with conventional methods.<\/li>\n
    • Measurable differences were identified, reflecting distinct morphological characteristics in the adult Yemeni sample.<\/li>\n
    • The findings can be utilized to improve the diagnosis and treatment of basal arch discrepancies and molar inclination.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      In light of these findings, the researcher recommended:<\/p>\n

      • Adopting local reference standards that reflect the specific characteristics of the Yemeni population in jaw measurements.<\/li>\n
      • Expanding future research to include larger samples from different governorates.<\/li>\n
      • Emphasizing the importance of training dental professionals in advanced imaging and digital scanning technologies to ensure diagnostic accuracy and high-quality treatment planning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        The defense session was attended by a number of academics, researchers, dental students, and specialists in orthodontics, as well as the researcher\u2019s colleagues.<\/p>\n
