Ms. Amani Lutf Mohammed altholaia <\/strong>was awarded a Master\u2019s Degree in Orthodontics <\/strong>for her thesis titled: \u200e Risk Factors of Osteomyelitis in the Maxilla and Mandibular Bones among Patients Attending Hospitals and Dental Clinics in Sana\u2019a City\u200e<\/em><\/strong>, <\/em>which was submitted to the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, <\/strong>Faculty of Dentistry \u2013 Sana\u2019a University. The MA defense was held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The MA Viva-voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The study aimed to evaluate and investigate cases of jaw osteomyelitis among Yemeni patients in Sana\u2019a City by analyzing the demographic, clinical, and behavioral factors associated with the disease.<\/p>\n

The study yielded a number of key findings summarized as follows:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • A clear predominance of males was found, accounting for 78.4% of cases, with a \u200emean age of 42.8 years.\u200e<\/li>\n
  • A high prevalence of qat chewing among patients with mandibular osteomyelitis \u200eexisted, reaching 89.2%, with a statistically significant association with systemic \u200erisk factors.\u200e<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    In light of these findings, the researcher recommended the following:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Implementing awareness programs for physicians and dentists on the importance of \u200eearly diagnosis of jaw osteomyelitis.\u200e<\/li>\n
    • Enhancing recognition of the risk factors associated with the condition.\u200e<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      The defense session was attended by a number of academics, researchers, students, colleagues, and the researcher\u2019s family.<\/p>\n
