Under the patronage of the President of Sana\u2019a University, Professor Al-Qasim Abbas, the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Sana\u2019a University concluded today a four-day workshop titled \u201cRaising Awareness of International Accreditation Concepts and the Application and Practice of Course File Contents\u201d. The workshop aligns with the faculty\u2019s strategic plan to achieve excellence in medical and health education.<\/h3>\n

The workshop aimed to enhance the skills of faculty members across both basic and applied academic departments, including Biochemistry, Anatomy and Histology, Physiology, Microbiology, Hematology, Pathology, Parasitology, and Pharmacology. It focused on raising awareness of international academic accreditation standards and their implementation mechanisms to meet the requirements for international programmatic academic accreditation, which the faculty is striving to achieve. Additionally, the workshop highlighted the importance of attaining this accreditation.<\/h3>\n

More than 80 faculty members participated in the workshop, which covered several key topics, including preparing course reports in accordance with international standards, developing skills for measuring learning outcomes, and adhering to the unified template for course reports developed by the Quality Assurance Department.<\/h3>\n

National expert Professor Saleh Bahaj provided a detailed explanation of the concepts of academic standards and international accreditation criteria, the significance of the course file, and the job satisfaction scale for faculty members and their assistants within the educational environment. He also discussed teaching and learning skills, modern strategies for effective teaching, and the foundations of scientific research.<\/h3>\n

The workshop concluded with several important recommendations, including:<\/h3>\n

1. Support for Quality Assurance Management: Providing the necessary resources to prepare course reports at the end of each semester, from course descriptions to final results.<\/h3>\n

2. Development of Teaching and Assessment Skills: Organizing specialized training workshops to improve academic performance.<\/span><\/p>\n

3. Updating Curricula: Ensuring alignment with community needs and preparing graduates with the competencies and knowledge required by both local and international markets.<\/span><\/p>\n

In his closing remarks, the Dean of the Faculty, Associate Professor Mohammed Mohammed Al-Shahari, emphasized the importance of continuing to organize training programs that contribute to the development of academic curricula and the preparation of faculty members according to international standards. He reaffirmed the faculty\u2019s commitment to enhancing faculty members\u2019 understanding of international accreditation concepts and their implementation mechanisms to achieve the college’s goal of obtaining accreditation soon.<\/h3>\n

The event was attended by members of the High Steering Committee, heads of scientific departments, faculty members, and several<\/h3>\n

individuals interested in medical and health\u00a0education.<\/h3>\n
