Professor Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, President of Sana\u2019a University, chaired today the regular meeting of the High Steering Committee and the specialized accreditation committees at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. The meeting comes within the framework of the faculty\u2019s ongoing efforts to meet the international accreditation requirements for the Medicine and Surgery program by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME).<\/h3>\n

At the outset of the meeting, which was attended by Dr. Abdulhafidh Thawabih, Assistant to the University President for Medical Colleges Affairs, and Dr. Huda Al-Emad, Dean of the Academic Development Center, the University President commended the significant efforts exerted by the faculty\u2019s administration and its academic and administrative staff to enhance the quality of medical education. He emphasized the importance of adhering to international standards to ensure educational outcomes that align with labor market needs and recent scientific developments.<\/h3>\n

For his part, Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Al-Shehari, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, welcomed the University President, the members of the High Steering Committee, and the heads of academic committees. He reaffirmed the faculty\u2019s commitment to implementing quality standards and updating academic programs in accordance with best international practices in medical education.<\/h3>\n

The meeting addressed several key topics related to the accreditation process, most notably the review of international academic standards for the Medicine and Surgery program and the discussion of mechanisms to further develop the faculty\u2019s educational system in line with the requirements of the international accreditation body. The committees were also urged to complete the remaining indicators related to the approved standards.<\/h3>\n

Dr. Ahmed Al-Mujahid, Vice Dean for Quality Affairs, presented an overview of the progress achieved by the specialized committees, including documentation preparation, performance indicators analysis, and self-evaluation reports.<\/h3>\n

Additionally, Professor Dr. Saleh Bahaj, the National Coordinator for Academic Accreditation at the Faculty, provided his observations and recommendations regarding the progress of the accreditation work. Attendees also discussed strategies to enhance performance and reinforce adherence to quality standards to ensure successful international accreditation.<\/h3>\n

The meeting was attended by a number of faculty members and academic committee representatives from the college.<\/h3>\n
