The MA defense was held on <strong>Wednesday, December 10, 2025.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h3>The MA Viva-voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by levels and the copper-to-zinc ratio in Yemeni patients with sickle cell anemia, and to assess the relationship between these levels and vaso-occlusive crises.<\/h3>\n<h3>The main findings of the study showed:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>A significant decrease in serum zinc levels among sickle cell anemia patients compared with healthy individuals.<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>A notable increase in the copper-to-zinc ratio, indicating an imbalance in these essential trace elements.<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>In light of these findings, the researcher recommended the following:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>Regular monitoring of zinc and copper levels in patients with sickle cell anemia to assess their nutritional status.<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>Investigating the potential benefits of zinc supplementation and its role in reducing vaso-occlusive episodes.<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>Monitoring the copper-to-zinc ratio as a possible biomarker for evaluating disease severity.<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>Enhancing patient and family awareness programs regarding the importance of these trace elements and their role in managing complications of the disease.<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>The defense session was attended by faculty members, researchers, students, colleagues, and the researcher\u2019s family.<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\"
