The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Sana\u2019a University held an expanded meeting today to monitor progress toward World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) accreditation. The session focused on reviewing approved improvement plans as part of the Faculty\u2019s ongoing commitment to elevating educational quality and aligning academic outcomes with global standards.
\nThe meeting was chaired by Prof. Mohammed Al-Shehari, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. Key attendees included Prof. Adel Al-Ghaili, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies; Prof.Anwar Al-Mughallis, Vice Dean for Clinical Affairs and Hospitals; Prof. Ahmed Mujahid, Vice Dean for Quality Assurance; Prof. Saleh Bahaj, National Expert, alongside members of the Steering Committee.<\/h3>\n

The meeting centered on the progress made in fulfilling WFME accreditation requirements and the mechanisms needed to finalize remaining benchmarks. The committee reviewed comprehensive improvement plans across academic, clinical, and administrative sectors to ensure full compliance with international quality indicators.<\/h3>\n

Participants emphasized the necessity of integration between academic and clinical units, stressing that continuous evaluation is vital to sustaining the accreditation pathway.
\nDuring the meeting, Prof. Mohammed Al-Shehari reaffirmed the Faculty\u2019s dedication to securing international accreditation. He described the process as an “institutional entitlement” that reflects Sana\u2019a University\u2019s leadership in medical education and enhances the regional and international competitiveness of its graduates. The Dean urged all departments to adhere to established timelines, intensify collective efforts, and ensure rigorous documentation of all procedures in line with WFME standards.
\nThe Vice Deans and the National Expert provided technical feedback and evaluative remarks. They presented a set of strategic recommendations aimed at:
\n– Improving institutional performance.
\n– Advancing educational programs.
\n– Enhancing the clinical learning environment to meet high-level global benchmarks.
\nThis meeting is part of a series of strategic sessions conducted by the Faculty to implement its “Total Quality” strategy. By embedding a culture of academic accreditation, the Faculty aims to modernize medical education in line with the latest global developments.<\/h3>\n
