Faculty of Mass Communication at Sana’a University Celebrates the Prophet’s Birthday, Welcomes New Students, and Honors Top Achievers
Sana’a – On Sunday, the Faculty of Mass Communication at Sana’a University organized a festive event on the occasion of the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday, which included welcoming new students and honoring the college’s top achievers. The event witnessed wide participation from faculty members and students.
The program commenced with the national anthem, followed by a speech from the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Omar Daer Al-Bukhaiti, who welcomed the new students. He emphasized that the faculty represents a pioneering academic environment that combines academic excellence with student activities, stressing that the occasion is an important opportunity to draw lessons from the life of the Prophet.
The ceremony then featured a special nasheed operetta that embodied the meanings of the Prophet’s birthday, creating a spiritual and interactive atmosphere in the hall.
This was followed by a speech from the University President, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, who congratulated the students on the occasion, affirming that commemorating the Prophet’s birth reflects the deep bond Yemenis hold with their Messenger. He also honored the top achievers, describing the recognition as motivation for continued diligence and academic excellence.
The celebration also included two poems: the first was delivered by poet Saqr Al-Lahji, who eloquently depicted the meanings of the Prophet’s birth and the values of his message. The second was presented by student Yaqoub Al-Khamri from the Faculty of Mass Communication, who captivated the audience with verses highlighting the role of university youth in carrying the message of knowledge and values.
In addition, Alaa Shamsan, representative of the University Student Forum, gave a welcoming address to the new students, affirming that the forum would stand by them throughout their academic journey. He stressed the importance of fostering cooperation and student activities that support the educational process.
The event concluded with the honoring of outstanding students who had achieved top ranks across various specializations, amidst loud applause and encouragement from the audience. The celebratory atmosphere reflected both the significance of the occasion in the hearts of Yemenis and the university’s commitment to instilling prophetic values within the academ
ic community.
