\ud83c\udfac Mass Communication Students Document Yemen’s Cultural Heritage in New Film
\nA student team from the Faculty of Mass Communication at Sana’a University has completed a new documentary film that chronicles the history and traditional craftsmanship of the Yemeni Jambiya (traditional dagger). This project aligns with the Faculty’s initiative to enhance students’ documentary filmmaking skills and utilize media knowledge to serve the national identity.
\nThe documentary is part of the applied projects implemented by the Faculty, aiming to link theoretical studies with practical application. This approach enables students to gain real-world field experience, reflecting their capabilities in directing, production, sound, cinematography, and documentary research.<\/p>\n
The film explores the journey of crafting the Yemeni Jambiya , starting with the artisans, the distinctiveness of the materials, and the history of this heritage, all the way to its significant cultural and social value in the Yemeni consciousness across generations.
\nStudents from various specializations within the Faculty contributed to the film’s execution, covering roles such as directing, cinematography, conceptualization, poster design, preparation\/research, voice-over, editing, production management, lighting, sound, and public relations. The project was completed under the supervision of a faculty member.<\/p>\n
The Faculty of Mass Communication affirmed that this work translates its efforts to cultivate media professionals capable of producing professional content that preserves Yemeni heritage and presents it in a contemporary, engaging manner.<\/p>\n\n
