Beyond the Grade: How an Investigative Senior Project is shedding Light on “The Industry of Death”<\/p>\n

SANA\u2019A \u2013Faculty of Mass Communication at Sana\u2019a University hosted a public defense today for a compelling senior thesis project titled “The Industry of Death” (Subtitled: When the Herbalist Wears the Doctor’s Coat). The investigative documentary, which tackles critical and controversial societal issues, received widespread acclaim from the defense committee for its high artistic and professional standards, ultimately earning the highest academic distinction.
\nThe defense committee was composed of Assoc. Prof. Hussein Jaghman, Dr. Khaled Omar, and Dr. Abubakr Al-Lawwa, alongside the project\u2019s lead supervisor, Dr. Hamoud Al-Qudaimi.
\nThe committee praised the extensive effort involved in the film\u2019s production, describing it as a “qualitative addition” to the Faulty’s student output. Faculty members highlighted the students’ bold approach and professionalism, noting their strict adherence to investigative standards which required rigorous field research and meticulous documentation.
\nDr. Hamoud Al-Qudaimi, the project supervisor, noted that the production required significant labor across the preparation, filming, and post-production phases. He explained that the title\u2014The Industry of Death\u2014specifically addresses the dangers of unregulated self-medication and the hazardous medical practices of unqualified practitioners.
\nThe event, held at the Faculty\u2019s main defense hall, saw a significant turnout of academics, students, and community members. Attendees praised the film\u2019s ability to deliver a profound social message through an impactful and evocative visual medium.
\nThe session concluded with the committee officially approving the project with a grade of “Excellent,” celebrating the graduates\u2019 creativity and their readiness to enter the professional media landscape.<\/p>\n
