*Behind the Screen: Sana\u2019a University Media Students Explore Educational TV Production*<\/p>\n

First-year students from the Faculty of Mass Communication at Sana’a University conducted a field visit to the Yemen Educational Channel headquarters to observe television operations and the production mechanisms of educational programs and lessons. The visit served as a practical application for the “Yemeni Media” course, supervised by Dr. Samia Al-Aghbari.<\/p>\n

The field trip aimed to strengthen students’ applied skills, connect theoretical course concepts with real-world professional practices, and introduce them to the educational media environment, the channel’s administrative and programming structure, and the technical equipment used in producing and broadcasting educational content.<\/p>\n

The students were received by the channel’s director and Mr. Fahd Sureih, who provided an overview of the channel\u2019s departments and operational workflows. He guided them on a tour that included the main broadcast studio, where they learned about production cameras, lighting systems, and set design engineering used in executing television shows.<\/p>\n

The visit also covered the master control room, where students examined various vintage and modern technical devices and equipment, learning about their operational mechanics, technical differences, and suitability for broadcast production demands.<\/p>\n

During the session, Mr. Fahd Sureih addressed the students’ questions regarding the channel’s history, operations, staff, and current challenges. He noted that the Yemen Educational Channel was established in 2000, began broadcasting in 2013, and currently employs a technical staff of approximately 100 professionals.<\/p>\n

He highlighted that the channel\u2019s primary challenges stem from limited financial liquidity and technical resources, while emphasizing its vital role in delivering educational lessons and information across Yemeni governorates and contributing to the dissemination of Islamic culture.<\/p>\n

This visit reflects the Faculty of Mass Communication\u2019s commitment at Sana’a University to enhancing practical learning and equipping students with field experience that fosters a deeper understanding of the media work environment and its technical and professional requirements.<\/p>\n
