SANA\u2019A \u2014 A scientific seminar organized by third-year students (Batch 34) in the Department of Public Relations and Advertising at the Faculty of Mass Communication, Sana’a University, examined the future of public relations amidst the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and the resulting opportunities and challenges for communication and media practices.
\nTitled “Public Relations in the Era of Artificial Intelligence,” the seminar was conducted as part of the practical coursework for the Special Events Planning and Management course. The event took place under the supervision of Prof. Hazza Murshed Sharaf, and was sponsored by Prof. Omar Ahmed Da’er Al-Bukhaiti, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, alongside Prof. Abdulraheem Al-Shawri, Head of the Department of Public Relations and Advertising.
\nThe proceedings focused on the primary applications of AI within public relations, highlighting its role in enhancing communication workflows, optimizing strategic planning, refining content management, and improving audience engagement. Discussions also addressed the technical, professional, and ethical challenges associated with AI integration, while forecasting future trends in automated communication practices.
\nThe seminar featured scholarly interventions and presentations by Prof. Fouad Ali Saadan, Dr. Hatem Al-Salhi, and Dr. Akram Othman from the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology. The speakers presented technical perspectives on AI fundamentals, domain-specific tools, and practical methodologies to elevate communication performance.
\nThe event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, Prof. Omar Ahmed Da’er Al-Bukhaiti, and the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Prof. Hussein Jaghman, along with several faculty members and students.
\nParticipants emphasized the necessity of aligning academic curricula with modern technological shifts, equipping public relations students with the practical skills required to deploy AI tools professionally and ethically.
\nThe seminar concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to the participating speakers and faculty members, acknowledging their academic contributions, while commending the third-year students for their execution and management of the event as part of their practical training.<\/p>\n
