Ms.Elham Mohammed Abdu Saeed Ghaleb <\/strong>was awarded a Master\u2019s Degree in Translation <\/strong>with an average of excellent and a grade of (95<\/strong>)for her thesis titled: Challenges of Translating Conceptual Metaphors in Economic Texts from English into Arabic by Senior Translation Students at the Faculty of Languages, Sana’a University<\/em><\/strong>,<\/em>which was submitted to the Department of Translation, Faculty of Languages\u2013 Sana\u2019a University.The MA defense was held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.<\/strong><\/p>

The MA Viva-voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:<\/p>

The study aimed to identify the challenges faced by fourth-level translation students when \u200etranslating conceptual metaphors in economic texts from English into Arabic, from the \u200eperspectives of both students and instructors\u200e.<\/p>

The study yielded a number of key findings summarized as follows:<\/p>

  • \u200e33% of students\u2019 translations were inaccurate.\u200e<\/li>
  • \u200e07% were less accurate across all types of metaphors.\u200e<\/li>
  • Only 14.07% were accurate.\u200e<\/li><\/ul>

    In light of these findings, the researcher recommended:<\/p>

    • Incorporating the topic of metaphor in economic texts and its translation strategies \u200einto translation course curricula.\u200e<\/li>
    • Increasing practical translation hours between English and Arabic for students.\u200e<\/li><\/ul>
