The dissertation aimed to:<\/p>

  • Highlight the significance of poetic symbolism in its various forms\u2014historical, mythological, religious, and natural\u2014in exposing the false narratives of neo-colonialism, through which colonial powers seek to impose economic dominance and political dependency over countries in the region by creating ideological and sectarian divisions that undermine social cohesion and national unity.\u200e\u200e<\/li><\/ul>

    The researcher examined several linguistic techniques employed by the poet Abdullah Al-Baraddouni in resisting neo-colonial narratives, portraying poetic symbolism through prominent linguistic and aesthetic devices such as intertextuality, inversion, irony, and black humor. Through these techniques, Al-Baraddouni critiqued the tragic conditions prevailing both locally and across the Arab world. The dissertation also explored how poetic symbolism functions as a vital instrument of resistance, emphasizing its role in reshaping national identity and strengthening collective public awareness regarding injustice, authoritarianism, and corruption.<\/p>

    The study yielded several key findings summarized as follows:<\/p>

    • The dissertation constitutes a significant contribution to resistance poetry studies, revealing the patterns and narratives of neo-colonialism while employing poetic symbolism as a means of resisting such narratives.<\/li>
    • The findings highlighted the poet\u2019s remarkable prophetic vision, derived from his careful historical reading of developments in Yemen in particular and the broader Arab world in general.<\/li>
    • The study concluded that poetic symbolism played an effective role in reflecting the authenticity of Al-Baraddouni\u2019s poetic experience and in conveying a distinguished aesthetic image of Yemeni poetry, elevating it from a local literary tradition to the realm of world literature.<\/li><\/ul>

      In light of these findings, the researcher recommended the following:<\/p>

      • Organizing regular academic seminars to discuss the relevance of Al-Baraddouni\u2019s poetry to current realities and to objectively examine the accuracy of his poetic predictions.<\/li>
      • Incorporating Al-Baraddouni\u2019s poetry into academic curricula across various disciplines due to its positive role in promoting national awareness regarding neo-colonial narratives.<\/li>
      • Translating all of his poetry collections into different foreign languages.<\/li><\/ul>
