On Monday, Shaban 7, 1444 AH, corresponding to February 27, 2023 AD, the public discussion of the master\u2019s thesis in geology submitted by researcher \/ Mohammed Abdulrazaq Mohammed Mokaber, took place at the Seminar Hall, Faculty of Petroleum and Natural Resources, Sana\u2019a University, entitled<\/p>\n

“<\/strong>Investigation of the Geological Structures using Seismic Refraction and Vertical Electrical Sounding Methods in Al-Sarrar area, East of Sana\u2019a Governorate, Yemen”<\/strong><\/p>\n The thesis was supervised by Dr. Ahmed Ali Muhammad Al-Aydrus<\/p>\n The discussion and judging committee consisted of:<\/p>\n \n 1-Dr. Basim Shaif Al-Khirbash \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 – Sana\u2019a University – Internal Examiner – Chairman<\/p>\n 2- Dr. Marwan Ahmed Al-Baadani \u00a0\u00a0 – Dhamar University – External Examiner – Member<\/p>\n 3- Dr. Ahmed Ali Al-Aydrus \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 – Sana\u2019a University – Main Supervisor – Member<\/p>\n \n The researcher presented his thesis, and reviewed the problem and objectives of the research, its importance, and the most important previous studies, in which he presented the most prominent results he reached, summarizing the results and interpretations, and concluding his presentation by presenting the most important recommendations and proposals. The thesis included the application of vertical electrical surveys (VES) and refractive seismic surveys to investigate the geological structures in the region located east of Bani Hashish District, Sana’a Governorate.<\/p>\n The underground reservoirs within the Tertiary volcanoes were revealed, which are filled with many geological structures, and the contact boundaries between the Tertiary volcanoes and the sandstone of the Tawilah Group covered by Wadi deposits. The thesis showed that refraction seismic survey is the best for identifying shallow structures in drilled wells.<\/p>\n After the student finished presenting his thesis, the discussion committee, in turn, resumed discussing the student and placing a number of questions and inquiries on the thesis.<\/p>\n After discussion and deliberation, the committee awarded the student \/ Mohammed Abdulrazaq Mokaber, \u00a0a master\u2019s degree in geology, specializing in \u201cgeophysics,\u201d with a grade of distinction of 90%.<\/p>\n The discussion was attended by vice deans, a number of faculty academic members and college students, in addition to many guests and interested parties.<\/p>\n \n Supervisor<\/strong><\/p>\n Dr. Ahmed Ali Al-Aydrus<\/strong><\/p>\n\n
