Sana\u2019a \u2013 September 17, 2025<\/h3>\n

The Faculty of Petroleum and Natural Resources at Sana\u2019a University, in cooperation \u200ewith the General Administration of Student Activities, organized an applied scientific \u200efield trip for fourth-year students from the Departments of Earth Sciences and Petroleum \u200e& Gas Engineering.\u200e<\/h3>\n

The three-day trip, launched on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, covered several \u200eYemeni governorates, with key stops in Sana\u2019a, Hodeida, Bura\u2019 Nature Reserve, \u200eRaymah, and Dhamar.\u200e<\/h3>\n

The trip was supervised by a distinguished group of faculty members and administrators, \u200eincluding:\u200e<\/h3>\n

Day One \u2013 Hodeida Governorate: Students received an in-depth review of Yemen\u2019s \u200egeological history, including the formation periods of various rock units along the route to \u200eHodeida and the structural features they contain.\u200e<\/h3>\n

Day Two \u2013 Bura\u2019 Nature Reserve & Raymah: En route, students examined prominent \u200esandstone outcrops of the Tawilah Group, marked by faults and igneous dikes. They \u200epracticed measuring dip and strike using geological compasses. At the reserve, students \u200estudied acidic igneous rocks, particularly granite, and analyzed the processes that brought \u200ethem to the surface and their structural features. The tour continued to Raymah, where \u200estudents observed basement granite formations containing numerous dikes and faults, as \u200ewell as evidence of weathering and erosion. The day concluded with travel through \u200eRaymah to Al-Sharq district and onward to Dhamar city.\u200e<\/h3>\n

Day Three \u2013 Dhamar to Sana\u2019a: On the return journey, students made stops to study \u200evolcanic geological sections, identifying structural features such as faults and dikes, and \u200eapplying field techniques to measure their orientation and angles.\u200e<\/h3>\n
