The three-day course aimed at providing 25 trainees of agricultural engineers at the National Center for Coffee Research of the General Authority for Research and Agricultural Extension, and some research cadres at the Faculty of Science, Plant Division, with knowledge and skills in the standardized scientific morphological methodology for classification..<\/p>\n<p>Prof. <strong>Hassan Ibrahim<\/strong>, Professor of Botany in the College of Science at Sana\u2019a University, and Professor <strong>Qais Al-Shaibani<\/strong>, Chairman of the Biology Department at the College of Science, indicated, to the importance of the correct scientific description of the genetic material of Yemeni coffee and the benefits that it will entail to help develop the productivity of this important vital crop. He pointed to the limited scientific research in this aspect, compared to what has been achieved by coffee-producing countries such as Ethiopia, which has carried out hundreds of research in this field and has proven that it is the country of origin for this coffee, while Yemen has not carried out research confirming that it is the one who has this right.<\/p>\n<p>The Director of the National Center for Coffee Research, Engineer <strong>Ahmed Al-Moallem<\/strong>, stressed the importance of the course in implementing activities prepared to launch research and interventions in the field of characterizing and preserving local breeds and prevailing agricultural patterns. And the General Authority for Agricultural Research and Extension plans to implement training courses for the national team in several areas, including biotechnology, vegetative propagation, hybridization and crop management.<\/p>\n<p>The honoring ceremony was attended by <strong>Dr. Mohammed Qusailah<\/strong>, Dean of the Sciences Faculty , and <strong>Dr. Abdullah Al-Olefi<\/strong>, Head of the General Authority for Agricultural Research. And they praised the support and patronage of<strong> Prof. Dr. Al-Qasim Mohammed Abbas<\/strong>, <strong>President of Sana\u2019a University<\/strong>, and his encouragement and motivation to hold this course and others that will contribute to agricultural development and the development of its research.\u00a0They stressed the need to continue cooperation between the Commission and the College of Science and to strengthen the supportive work for agricultural research that will preserve the agricultural heritage and to link the scientific research aspect with the developmental aspect to serve agricultural development in Yemen.<\/p>\n\n    <div class=\"xs_social_share_widget xs_share_url after_content \t\tmain_content  wslu-style-1 wslu-share-box-shaped wslu-fill-colored wslu-none wslu-share-horizontal wslu-theme-font-no wslu-main_content\">\n\n\t\t\n        <ul>\n\t\t\t        <\/ul>\n    <\/div> \n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A short training course was held in the Faculty of Science, Sana&#8217;a University, in the field of morphological classification.
