The Measurement and Evaluation Unit is tasked with defining, building, and developing measurement and evaluation standards at the University and monitoring evaluation processes in various colleges and centers for curriculum, faculty members, and examinations. It is also concerned with conducting studies and research in the field of measurement and evaluation.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Measurement and Evaluation Unit
- Publishing and promoting awareness of the importance of measurement and evaluation through lectures, and issuing publications, summaries, and reports.
- Ensuring fairness and transparency in the process of measurement and evaluation for faculty members and exams.
- Ensuring the compatibility of measurement and evaluation methods with educational outcomes.
- Developing measurement and evaluation methods.
- Achieving national and international standards for measurement and evaluation in accordance with quality and academic accreditation standards.
- Providing technical support and consultation to University colleges in the field of measurement and evaluation and curriculum development.
- Contributing to self-assessment related to measurement and evaluation.
- Collaborating with the Academic Development Unit in preparing and developing evaluation tools for academic programs and their components, including their inputs, operations, and outputs.
- Measuring performance indicators and providing periodic reports on them.
- Participating with relevant authorities and quality units in colleges to evaluate curriculum and faculty members to ensure quality assurance and continuous improvement.
- Conducting field studies and research in the field of measurement and evaluation and encouraging the exchange of experiences in this field.
- Holding workshops to refine the skills of the staff in building and applying relevant standards.
- Contributing to the creation of an electronic database for various evaluation tools.
- Participating with the Training and Technical Support Unit in holding training courses for faculty members in various colleges based on different evaluation results and achievement tests.
- Conducting an analytical study to assess the extent to which faculty members in University colleges and centers consider scientific standards in preparing final achievement tests.
- Providing periodic reports to the Information System Unit on completed tasks.
- Working according to the Center’s plan and assigned tasks.
