Educational and Psychological Counseling Center (EPCC)

Sana'a University

The Center was established pursuant to the University Council’s Approval on 10/6/2002, the University Rector’s Decision No. 251 of 2003, and the University Council’s Approval of the Center’s scientific and research regulations on 27/2/2005.

Pursuant to the Rector’s Decision No. (312) of 1444 AH, two Master’s programs were approved in the following disciplines: 

  1. Master’s degree in Crime Psychology and Criminal Justice.

  2. Master’s degree in Organizational Psychology.

The center contributes to community issues related to economics, social affairs, and the environment by organizing lectures and awareness seminars, training psychologists and social workers in schools, as well as conducting courses for staff and faculty members on the importance of psychological counseling and the need for it.

Aims of the Center:

  1. Providing excellent educational and psychological counseling services in psychological guidance, training, and counseling treatment for Sana’a University staff, employees, students, researchers, and the community, including national and international organizations and various other bodies. This also includes organizing and holding training courses and therapeutic scientific and academic workshops and programs.

  2. Planning and conducting scientific and academic training workshops and programs in the field of educational and psychological counseling for students, organizations, and society.

  3. Evaluating educational and psychological counseling programsin the fields of   psychological consultation and specialized psychotherapeutic and educational support, targeting families, spouses, women, children, youth, and the elderly, as well as providing functional and therapeutic support for people with special needs, offering scientific and academic administrative guidance for employees and leaders, and building personality and supporting civilized social behavior.

  4. Helping students, youth, and the elderly in developing and achieving their personal, social, and academic psychological adaptation.

  5. Providing guidance, first-aid, psychological, and behavioral treatments for people with psychological and mental disorders and those who have   socially and morally unacceptable conducts.

  6. Providing psychological, educational, social, familial, and administrative counseling, planning, and implementing strategies and educational and psychological guidance programs for concerned individuals, society, organizations, and university staff and students, emphasizing the adoption of scientific methods for solving educational and psychological problems.
