As part of the Joint Summer Training Program, the Department of Agricultural \u200eEngineering and Modern Technologies conducted a field training visit to a vegetable \u200efarm, under the supervision of Dr. Samir Al-Mashreqi, Dr. Suleiman Sahari, Eng. Samar \u200eAl-Selwi, and Eng. Ahmed Al-Ghaithi.\u200e<\/h3>

The training focused on qualifying students to design drip irrigation networks. Key \u200elearning areas included identifying system components, mastering the installation of \u200elateral lines, and determining appropriate spacing based on crop type. Students also \u200ereceived hands-on training in testing and maintaining irrigation systems to ensure \u200eoperational efficiency.\u200e<\/h3>

Students were trained on the installation and maintenance of drip irrigation systems. They \u200elearned about the components of the system and the procedures for installing main and \u200esub-main lines as well as emitters, taking into account proper spacing according to crop \u200etype. The training also covered inspection techniques, clearing clogged emitters, repairing \u200eleaks, and regulating water pressure to maintain efficient irrigation performance.\u200e<\/h3>

Additionally, students carried out a trial operation of the irrigation network after \u200einstallation to verify uniform water distribution and ensure the absence of technical \u200efaults.\u200e<\/h3>

Participants included students from the Departments of Soil, Crop Science, Plant \u200eProtection, and Horticulture, with the aim of equipping them with the practical skills \u200enecessary to design, operate, and maintain modern irrigation systems.\u200e<\/h3>

This training forms part of efforts to enhance water-use efficiency and improve \u200eagricultural productivity through the scientific and practical application of modern \u200eirrigation technologies.\u200e<\/h3>
