SANA\u2019A, YEMEN \u2013 April 25, 2026<\/h3>

As part of the summer training program, students from Department of Crops and Genetic Improvement conducted a comprehensive field experiment on potato cultivation (Solanum tuberosum). The initiative aimed to enhance practical skills and deepen students’ understanding of the applied aspects of field crop production.
The training covered the critical environmental requirements for optimal crop growth, including temperature regulation, soil composition, and irrigation needs. Students received hands-on instruction on proper soil preparation techniques to ensure maximum germination and robust plant development. The curriculum also highlighted advanced tuber planting techniques, with practical demonstrations on selecting high-quality seeds, determining precise planting depths, and maintaining ideal spacing.
Throughout the experiment, students closely monitored the physiological growth stages of the crop\u2014from initial sprouting and vegetative growth to tuber formation. This field-based approach allowed participants to master essential agricultural operations, including strategic irrigation, fertilization, and integrated pest and disease management.
This activity is central to our mission of bridging theoretical knowledge with clinical field experience. By immersing students in professional agricultural practices, the department is preparing a highly qualified workforce capable of enhancing agricultural productivity and meeting the evolving demands of the labor market.<\/h3>
