As part of their summer training activities, students from the Department of Animal Production conducted a comprehensive field visit to the Marib Poultry Farm. The visit aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application while introducing students to modern poultry farming techniques.
During the tour, students examined the design and infrastructure of closed-system poultry houses. They observed the strategic distribution of drinkers, feeders, and nesting boxes designed to maximize production efficiency and ensure bird welfare. Additionally, students learned professional methods for egg collection and preservation to prevent damage and maintain quality.
The visit also highlighted the battery cage system, focusing on the automated delivery of feed and water. Students gained hands-on insights into the preparation of crushed feed rations, learning how to calculate nutritional components based on the birds’ age and production levels.
Furthermore, the program included an overview of the automated feed mixing process. Students toured the facility’s feed mills and inspected the machinery used in formulating and processing high-quality poultry feed.
The field visit was conducted under the supervision of Mr. Jamal Al-Qudami. It underscores the department’s ongoing efforts to enhance students’ technical skills and prepare them for professional careers in the animal production industry.<\/h3>
