At the outset of the meeting, the Dean extended a warm welcome to Prof. Abdulaziz Al-Shaibi, Vice Rector of the Academic Accreditation Council, his Secretary-General, and the external review team. He emphasized that this evaluation is a culmination of years of dedicated efforts and expressed gratitude for the unwavering support provided by the university administration under the leadership of Prof. Al-Qasim Abbas. The Dean also acknowledged the diligent efforts of the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance and the quality team within the Faculty. In his remarks, Prof. Abdulrahman Al-Haifi affirmed that the team’s visit followed several preparatory steps undertaken by the council, including the signing of an agreement, provision of technical support, a verification committee’s prior visit to the college, and a comprehensive review of submitted documentation by council experts. The external reviewers have spent approximately two weeks studying these files prior to their visit today, which is part of a series of essential stages in the accreditation process.
Dr. Hisham Al-Mikhlafi articulated that the council has been operating at an accelerated pace since the university submitted the self-assessment files for its Faculties and programs. The council has been diligently engaged in the review, analysis, and evaluation of these files, culminating in the preparation of initial reports. Subsequently, the council established a schedule for site visits, which commenced in the first week and will continue until all Faculties and programs have been assessed by the review teams.
Dr. Mohammad Al-Khalidi presented an overview of the visit plan, which the team is set to implement during its time at the Faculty, adhering to the established schedule and timeline.
On the first day of the visit, the team reviewed three accreditation standards and conducted a field assessment of the Faculty’s facilities. The team convened with the heads and members of the committees overseeing these three standards, as well as relevant department heads and directors, in accordance with the visit schedule. During this meeting, the standards were thoroughly examined, and the team engaged in discussions to address comments and inquiries related to these standards. The feedback received will be duly considered in their evaluation process. At the conclusion of the day, in line with the visit schedule, the team conducted a reconnaissance tour of various Faculty facilities, including the Student Affairs Department, examination control, library resources, selected laboratories, and faculty offices. The team is scheduled to continue its assessment activities tomorrow as per the established plan.
