This thesis aimed to highlight the significance of the book, “Al-Fatawa fi al-Masail al-Tawari’ ‘ala Adillat Masail Al-Azhar” as a crucial Zaydi jurisprudential encyclopedia. This work encompasses the doctrines of Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and the sayings of their Imams, alongside the opinions of scholars from various Islamic schools of thought.
Among the significant findings, the researcher noted that the scholar Yahya bin Al-Hussein thoroughly explained the evidences of “Matn Al-Azhar,” largely concurring with it while occasionally differing on certain rulings.
The thesis concludes with several important recommendations, urging:
-
Sana’a University and the Ministry of Endowments to prioritize the revival of Islamic manuscripts, particularly foundational Zaydi texts that are currently inaccessible to researchers and students.
-
That the revival of heritage should extend beyond mere text verification and the documentation of discrepancies. It should encompass the extraction of methodologies applicable to contemporary academic and practical life, ensuring their real-world implementation and educating future generations on their significance. The researcher emphasizes that “in the revival of heritage lies the renaissance of the Ummah.”
The MA thesis has been examined and is recommended by the Viva-Voce Committee for acceptance and approval. The defense was well-attended by academics, researchers, students, and the candidate’s colleagues and family members.
