English Department at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Sana’a University, hosted a seminar for the PhD dissertation proposal presented by the candidate Rashed Mohammed Ali Al-Hajen.
The proposal, titled “From Utopia to Dystopia: Political Ideology in Aleksandr Dugin’s Fourth Political Theory and George Orwell’s Literary Works as Reflections on the Failure of Communism,” is being supervised by Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Sharafuddin.
The examining Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Post-Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following members:
• Dr. Abdullah Al-Ghurbani – Examiner
• Dr. Ghada Basalamah – Examiner
• Assoc. Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Sharafuddin – Main Supervisor
During the session, the candidate presented the plan of his academic study, detailing the study’s objectives, significance, methodology, and the theoretical and conceptual framework upon which it is based, in addition to the proposed hypotheses and analytical tools.
Following an extensive discussion by the committee members, the committee officially approved the candidate’s proposed research plan. The committee commended the candidate’s academic efforts and highlighted the importance of the study topic in supporting political thought and literary criticism within both the Yemeni political and academic sectors.
The seminar was attended by a number of interested scholars and postgraduate students from the department.
