Biography:

  • I awarded my PhD in Urban Planning in 2015 and was subsequently promoted to the position of Associate Professor of Urban Geography and Urban Planning in 2023. I have been a faculty member in the Department of Geography and Geoinformatics at Sana’a University since the academic year 2010-2011. In my role, I instruct a variety of undergraduate and preparatory master’s courses, supervise master’s and doctoral theses, and engage as a lecturer in various scientific and cultural associations and forums. My academic contributions include participation in numerous local and international scientific conferences, where I have presented research and scholarly papers. I am the author of three scientific books and have published seven research articles in both local and international peer-reviewed journals, focusing on urban planning and urban development. Additionally, I have participated in several training workshops, both as a trainer and as a participant, within the field of urban planning. I am currently involved in several scientific projects aimed at enriching the geographical literature within my area of specialization. My expertise also encompasses geographic information systems (GIS) and map production. In addition to my academic responsibilities at the university, I serve as a youth pioneer at the Faculty of Arts, Sana’a University.

  • 2012 – An introductory doctorate’s degree – Department : Geography, Faculty of Arts-Sana’a University –  Specialization  : (Human Geography) –  Evaluation:  Excellent- the first range  for the doctoral batch Made up of 12 Student .
  • 2015- PhD degree, Department : Geography, Faculty of Arts, Sana’a University- majoring in: (Urban Planning )-  Evaluation: Excellent , with the recommendation to print it at the university’s expense and publish it in a circular for its scientific and practical benefit, on the thesis tagged with” Urban Variation  in Yemen and its impact on the balanced and sustainable development, using geographic information systems”.
  • In August 2023, I attained a promotion from the position of Assistant Professor to that of Associate Professor.

  • Participating in a research entitled “Environmental twins of the urban fabric in the Arab city” With Prof. Dr. Khalis Hosni Al-Ashaab, at the Second International Conference on Architecture and Islamic Arts, held at the University of Sana’a in the period 12-14 June 2010 .
  • Participating in a research entitled “Rural enclaves in the capital Sana’a” With Prof. Dr. Khalis Hosni Al-Ashaab, at the scientific conference “Urban expansions in the city of Sana’a, challenges and solutions , held at the University of Sanaa during the period28- 29 Nov , which was published in the Journal of the Yemeni Geographical Society, the fifth issue, 2014.
  • Participating in an independent research entitled ” Urban expansion of the city of Sana’a and a Wathrah on the environment adjacent agricultural land” In the international conference ( Geomatics Middle East and North Africa( It is held at Yarmouk University in the Kingdom of Jordan for the period 28-30March , and it was published in the International Journal of the Environment, Water and the Sahara, Issue Two, 2013.
  • Participating in a research entitled “Sewage water in the capital Sana’a- Sana’a: Challenges Solutions ” With Prof. Dr. Qaid Hassan Al-Jamrah, at the Second Arab Water Conference, held in Doha, State of Qatar, for the period 27-29 May

  • Contributed to an independent research project titled “The Decline in the Functional Performance of Public Parks and Gardens in the Capital: An Applied Study Utilizing Geographic Information Systems.” This research was presented at the First Scientific Conference for Humanities and Social Sciences, themed “Nations are Built with Science and Knowledge,” held at Al-Andalus University for Science and Technology in Sana’a on February 4-5, 2018. The study underwent a peer-review process and was subsequently published in Issue 46 of the Journal of the College of Arts and Humanities at Sana’a University in 2021.

Additionally, I served as a trainer and lecturer during a training workshop for technical committees focused on community participatory urban planning in the governorates of Amanat Al-Asemah, Sana’a, Saada, Hodeidah, and Ibb. This workshop was organized by the General Authority for Land, Survey, and Urban Planning and took place from September 28 to October 6, 2021.
  • Led a research team for the project titled “Assessing the Environmental Impact of Existing Industries and Identifying Optimal Sites for New Industrial Clusters in the Yemeni Governorates Bordering the Red Sea,” which was conducted under the auspices of the Ministry of Fisheries in 2022.
  • Have served as a referee for several scientific research articles published in peer-reviewed journals and have acted as a supervisor and scientific discussant for multiple master’s theses and doctoral dissertations.
  • Prepared and delivered a number of scientific lectures in the field of urban planning and Yemeni civilizational history, in each of the Yemeni Geographical Society, the Yemeni Philosophical Society, the Dal Center for Studies, and a number of cultural forums, in a way that contributes to deepening and strengthening the relationship betweenscientific institutions , And civil society organizations.
