Public MA Viva-Voce Examination of Ms. Najah Mahdi Yahya Al-Hila, from the Department of Islamic Studies, Faculty of Arts & Humanities – Sana’a University<\/h3>\n

Ms. Najah Mahdi Yahya Al-Hila successfully obtained MA degree in Islamic Studies, majoring in Comparative Jurisprudence, from the Faculty of Arts & Humanities at Sana’a University. She achieved a commendable grade of 95, classified as excellent, for her thesis entitled “The Rule of Removing Harm and Its Jurisprudential Applications: A Comparative Study Between the Zaydi and Shafi Schools”.<\/h3>\n

The Viva Voce took place on Tuesday, the 12th of Rabi’ al-Thani, 1446 Hijri, corresponding to October 15, 2024.<\/h3>\n

The Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Post-Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:
\n1. Professor Ahmed Ibrahim Yabes Al-Ahdal, External Examiner, University of Hodeidah, Chair
\n2. Dr. Hassan Ali Al-Sarouri, Internal Examiner, University of Sana’a, Member.
\n3. Dr. Saeed Ali Al-Humairi, University of Sana’a, Member.<\/h3>\n

The primary objective of the thesis was to elucidate the practical applications of the rule regarding the removal of harm within the jurisprudential frameworks of both the Zaidi and Shafi’i schools of thought.<\/h3>\n

The research yielded several significant findings, notably that the Zaidi and Shafi’i schools exhibit agreement on most issues while diverging on a limited number of points. The researcher examined thirty specific issues within her study. Furthermore, she provided several recommendations, including the need for enhanced availability of Zaidi references to facilitate further scholarly exploration of jurisprudential principles pertinent to that school of thought.<\/h3>\n

The Viva-Voce was attended by several academics, researchers, students, and several colleagues and family members of the researcher.<\/h3>\n
