Public MA Viva-Voce Examination of Mr. Tawfiq Yahya Mohammad Nasr Al-Hamoudi, from the Department of Social Work, Faculty of Arts & Humanities – Sana’a University<\/h3>\n

Mr. Tawfiq Mohammad Yahya Al-Hamoudi successfully obtained his MA degree in the Department of Social Work, majoring in Individual Service from the Faculty of Arts & Humanities, Sana’a University. He achieved an outstanding grade of 93% and received commendations for the publication of his thesis, titled “Obstacles to Social Integration of Individuals Leaving Residential Institutions: A Study from Social Work Perspective.” This accomplishment was formally recognized on Sunday, 17 Rabi’ al-Akhir 1446 Hirji, corresponding to October 20, 2024.<\/h3>\n

The Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Post-Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:
\n1. Professor Mohamed Saeed Al-Kamil, External Examiner, Yemeni Studies and Research Center, Chair.
\n2. Dr. Fahd Mohammad Ahmad Al-Ahmadi, Internal Examiner, Sana’a University, Member.
\n3. Professor Sukina Ahmed Hashem, Sana’a University, Member.<\/h3>\n

The primary objective of this study was to identify the barriers hindering social integration for individuals who have experienced deprivation of family care upon exiting sheltering institutions. The research yielded several significant findings, notably the rejection of three hypotheses: first, that there are no statistically significant differences between demographic characteristics and obstacles to social integration as perceived by individuals leaving these institutions; second, that there are no statistically significant differences between demographic characteristics and obstacles to social integration from the perspective of those exiting the institutions; and third, that there are no statistically significant differences between demographic characteristics and obstacles to social integration as viewed by society regarding individuals leaving these institutions.<\/h3>\n

In his thesis, Mr. Al-Hamoudi proposed several practical recommendations aimed at enhancing the conditions for individuals transitioning out of these institutions. These recommendations included increasing community support for those deprived of family care, implementing training programs to bolster social and educational skills, improving collaboration among relevant institutions and the community to facilitate the integration process, and developing advanced educational programs tailored to meet the basic educational needs of individuals entering sheltering institutions.<\/h3>\n
