Ms.Yusra Ali Qaid Al-Madhbi, has been awarded the MA Degree with a distinction, scoring 95%, from the Department History and International Relations, Faculty of Arts & Humanities – Sana’a University, majoring in Islamic History. Her thesis, titled “The Historical Aspect in Nashwan Saeed Alhemyari’s “Shams Al-ulum wa Dawa’ Kalam Al-arabmen Al-koloum” from the First to the Sixth Hijri Centuries,” was successfully defended on Tuesday, 26 Sha’ban 1446 Hijri, corresponding to February 25, 2025.<\/h3>\n

The Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Post-Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:
\n1. Prof. Ali Abdulkarim Mohammad Barakat, External Examiner, Ibb University, Member.
\n2. Dr. Faisal Bajash Ali Hamid, Main Supervisor, Sana’a University, Member.
\n3. Dr. Mustafa Hussein Ghashim, Internal Examiner, Sana’a University, Member.<\/h3>\n

The primary objective of the thesis was to compile and analyze the historical material from the book “Shams Al-ulum,” organizing it into an independent volume for the benefit of researchers and historians. The study aimed to classify and utilize this historical material to enhance historical knowledge, emphasizing Nashwan Saeed Alhemyari’s contributions as a distinguished historian and encyclopedist.<\/h3>\n

Key findings of the thesis included:
\n1. An extensive amount of historical material on the Meccan and Medinan periods, with significant accounts from the era of the Rightly Guided Caliphs. In contrast, the records pertaining to the Umayyad and Abbasid states were relatively sparse.
\n2. Unique historical narratives by Nashwan Alhemyari that, to the researcher’s knowledge, are not found in other historical sources. Nashwan demonstrated a profound interest in genealogy, detailing the origins and branches of Yemeni and Arab tribes, as well as non-Arab peoples.<\/h3>\n

The researcher proposed several recommendations, such as:
\n1. Conducting a comprehensive study on the genealogies mentioned by Nashwan Alhemyari.
\n2. Compiling a dictionary of industrial tools referenced by Nashwan, encompassing agricultural, domestic, and military implements.
\n3. Investigating Nashwan Alhemyari’s historical perspectives through his work “Shams Al-ulum wa Dawa’ Kalam Al-arabmen Al-koloum.”<\/h3>\n

The Viva-Voce was attended by several academics, researchers, students, and several colleagues and family members of the researcher.<\/h3>\n
