Mr. Rashid Mohammed Ali Al-Hajin <\/strong>was awarded a Master’s degree in in English Language and Literature <\/strong>with an average of (Excellent<\/strong>) and a grade of (94<\/strong>%)<\/strong> for his thesis titled: Revolution Betrayed: Satire in George Orwell\u2019s Animal Farm<\/em><\/strong>, which was submitted to the Department of English, Faculty of Arts and Humanities \u2013 Sana\u2019a University. The MA defense was held on Saturday, August 16, 2025<\/strong>.<\/h3>\n

The Study aimed to:<\/h3>\n

– Examine the dimensions of political and social satire in Animal Farm.<\/h3>\n

– Highlight the satirical style employed by George Orwell to expose the mechanisms and tactics through which an ambitious popular revolution is transformed into a repressive authoritarian regime.<\/h3>\n

– Trace the historical parallels of the novel with the Russian Revolution and its subsequent transformations.<\/h3>\n

– Analyze how Orwell employed allegory and satire to critique the betrayal of revolutionary ideals.<\/h3>\n

The Study reached the following key findings:<\/h3>\n

– Animal Farm stands as a brilliant artistic model in employing political satire to uncover the mechanisms of revolutionary betrayal.<\/h3>\n

– Orwell provided a profound critical vision of how revolutions deviate when seized by authoritarian elite.<\/h3>\n

– Satire in the novel was not merely an aesthetic device, but also a powerful tool of condemning despotism and exposing the mechanisms of mass manipulation and the betrayal of revolutionary principles.<\/h3>\n

– All revolutions that begin with lofty promises, unless they are safeguarded by mechanisms of accountability, transparency, and integrity in governance, will ultimately end in utter failure.<\/h3>\n

The Study concluded with the following recommendations:<\/h3>\n

– Expanding academic studies that bridge literature with political and social sciences.<\/h3>\n

– Encouraging critical studies that approach literature from the perspective of satire and political irony.<\/h3>\n

– Making use of Animal Farm as an enduring and timeless model for understanding the mechanisms of revolutionary collapse and the transformation of revolutions into authoritarian regimes.<\/h3>\n

The defense was attended by a number of academics, researchers, and specialists, along with the researcher\u2019s colleagues and family members.<\/h3>\n
