Sana’a: November 12, 2025
\nEnglish Department at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Sana’a University, hosted a seminar for the PhD dissertation proposal presented by the candidate Rashed Mohammed Ali Al-Hajen.
\nThe proposal, titled “From Utopia to Dystopia: Political Ideology in Aleksandr Dugin’s Fourth Political Theory and George Orwell’s Literary Works as Reflections on the Failure of Communism,” is being supervised by Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Sharafuddin.
\nThe examining Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Post-Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following members:
\n\u2022 Dr. Abdullah Al-Ghurbani \u2013 Examiner
\n\u2022 Dr. Ghada Basalamah \u2013 Examiner
\n\u2022 Assoc. Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Sharafuddin \u2013 Main Supervisor
\nDuring the session, the candidate presented the plan of his academic study, detailing the study’s objectives, significance, methodology, and the theoretical and conceptual framework upon which it is based, in addition to the proposed hypotheses and analytical tools.
\nFollowing an extensive discussion by the committee members, the committee officially approved the candidate\u2019s proposed research plan. The committee commended the candidate\u2019s academic efforts and highlighted the importance of the study topic in supporting political thought and literary criticism within both the Yemeni political and academic sectors.
\nThe seminar was attended by a number of interested scholars and postgraduate students from the department.<\/h3>\n
