Researcher<\/strong> Mohsen Mohammed Mohsen Abdulqader Al-Hamed <\/strong>was awarded a Master\u2019s Degree in Mental Health <\/strong>with an average of Excellent and a grade of (90%) for his thesis titled: Internet Addiction and Its Relationship with Anxiety Among Seiyun University Students<\/em><\/strong>, <\/em>which was submitted to the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Arts and Humanities\u2013 Sana\u2019a University. The MA defense was held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026\u200e\u200e.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The study aimed to investigate the relationship between internet addiction and anxiety among Seiyun University students, assess the prevalence of both phenomena, and examine differences associated with gender, academic specialization, and level of study.<\/h3>\n

The findings revealed a statistically significant positive correlation between internet addiction and anxiety among the students. The study also found that the overall level of internet addiction was moderate, whereas the level of anxiety was mild. In addition, the results showed no statistically significant differences in internet addiction based on gender, academic specialization, or level of study. However, significant differences were observed in anxiety levels, with female students reporting higher levels of anxiety than males, and students enrolled in humanities disciplines exhibiting higher anxiety levels than those in applied sciences. No significant differences in anxiety were found according to level of study.<\/h3>\n

The researcher recommended strengthening the role of psychological and social counseling centers at Seiyun University, organizing awareness programs promoting the safe and responsible use of the Internet, and expanding extracurricular activities that help reduce digital isolation. The study also recommended integrating modern technologies into the educational process in a purposeful and balanced manner, in addition to launching educational and media campaigns to raise awareness of the risks of digital addiction and its impact on mental health.<\/h3>\n

The thesis defense was attended by faculty members, researchers, students, and interested participants as well as the researcher’s colleagues and family members.<\/h3>\n
