Mr. Abdulsalam Mansour Ahmed <\/strong>was awarded a PhD degree in Computing and Information Science <\/strong>with distinction for his dissertation titled: A Novel Model for Optimizing Energy Efficiency and Enhancing Connectivity in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs)<\/em><\/strong>, which was submitted to the Department of Information Technology, Faculty of Computer and Information Technology \u2013 Sana\u2019a University. The dissertation defense was held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The PhD Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:<\/p>\n

The study aimed to propose an innovative model to improve energy efficiency and extend the operational lifetime of MANETs.<\/p>\n

The study yielded several key findings, including:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • 48% improvement in network lifetime compared to AODV and 26% improvement compared to EEAODV.<\/li>\n
  • Significant reduction in packet loss rate.<\/li>\n
  • Lower end-to-end delay across the network.<\/li>\n
  • More balanced energy consumption across nodes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The researcher concluded his dissertation with several key recommendations, including:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Integrating intelligent energy management mechanisms into MANET routing protocols.<\/li>\n
    • Developing hybrid models leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning to enhance route selection efficiency and proactively replace critical nodes before failure.<\/li>\n
    • Conducting further applied studies to test the proposed model in real-world environments, such as relief networks, to ensure greater reliability and extended network lifetimes under practical conditions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      The dissertation defense was attended by a number of academics, researchers, specialists, students, colleagues, and the researcher\u2019s family.<\/p>\n
