Faculty of Education | SU
The Faculty of Education in Sana'a and the Department of Arabic Studies Curricula and Teaching Methods were established in 1972. The Department provides Arabic language courses to students of the Faculty of Education, training them in speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills, as well as in the design, production, and use of educational materials. It also offers training and consultancy services to various schools, institutes, and centers across the Republic. The Department contributes to raising awareness regarding the importance, application, and integration of the Arabic language into the educational process—targeting faculty members and their assistants in particular, and educators in general—through annual seminars and exhibitions. The Department relies primarily on Yemeni academic staff holding PhD and Master's degrees, supplemented by contracted personnel as needed. An educational Master's program was established, followed by an educational Doctoral program; several cohorts have since graduated from both. A Master's program in Literature, Language, Syntax, and Morphology was established.
