Researcher Rabia Al-Shaqaa has been awarded a Master\u2019s degree with distinction in International Development from the Inclusive Development Research Center at Sana\u2019a University. Her thesis, titled \u201cHumanitarian Projects in the Social and Psychological Empowerment of Children,\u201d explored the impact of humanitarian initiatives on the empowerment of children in Sana\u2019a City between 2020 and 2023. The defense took place on Saturday, December 28, 2024, in the presence of an esteemed examination committee comprising Dr. Omar Saeed Ali Ishaq as the external examiner and committee chair, Dr. Nabil Mohammed Saleh Al-Abidi as the main supervisor and committee member, and Dr. Khaled Handah Khamees Balhiq as the internal examiner and committee member.<\/p>\n

The study revealed that the overall provision of humanitarian projects for children was exceptionally high, with notable levels of social and psychological empowerment facilitated by international organizations. The research showed no statistically significant differences in empowerment levels based on gender or age, except for a marked difference in project benefits favoring children aged 8 to 12. Additionally, educational qualifications influenced social empowerment outcomes, favoring children with elementary, preparatory, or secondary qualifications.<\/p>\n

Based on these findings, the researcher recommended enhancing and expanding medical services to comprehensively address children\u2019s health needs, training healthcare professionals specializing in child health, and developing tailored social and psychological empowerment programs for different age and educational groups. Further recommendations included training professionals in empowerment skills, fostering partnerships with local communities, building collaborative networks among child-focused organizations, and implementing programs to support children\u2019s mental health.<\/p>\n

The defense was attended by academics, researchers, students, and members of Al-Shaqaa\u2019s family and friends, reflecting the significance of her work and its contribution to understanding the role of humanitarian projects in empowering vulnerable children.<\/p>\n
