Our center organized today an intellectual symposium titled \u201cThe Nature of Conflict and Its Intellectual and Civilizational Dimensions, and the Historical Background of International Positions.\u201d<\/p>\n

The event was held as part of the university\u2019s ongoing series of scientific and intellectual symposia under the theme \u201cAcademics Toward Jerusalem,\u201d which aims to deepen academic and intellectual awareness of humanitarian and civilizational issues in the region.<\/p>\n

In the opening session, Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, Sana\u2019a University’s Rector, emphasized that the university seeks, through these seminars, to promote critical thinking among academics, researchers, and students, and to encourage analytical studies that contribute to a deeper understanding of the roots of regional and international conflicts and issues\u2014reflecting the university\u2019s scientific and research mission.<\/p>\n

Dr. Al-Bukhaiti further explained that the outcomes of these seminars will be integrated into an upcoming comprehensive scientific conference to be organized by the university in cooperation with Yemeni, Arab, and Islamic universities. The conference will address intellectual and cultural issues from an academic and research-based perspective, reinforcing Sana\u2019a University\u2019s status as a leading center of knowledge production.<\/p>\n

For his part, Mr. Abdulsalam Al-Mutamayiz, Cultural Advisor to the University President, highlighted the university\u2019s special attention to issues of intellectual and cultural awareness, stressing that scientific research is the most essential tool for building enlightened knowledge capable of addressing contemporary intellectual and cultural challenges.<\/p>\n

The symposium, moderated by Dr. Zaid Al-Warith, Assistant to the University President for Research Centers Affairs, was attended by Dr. Omar Daer, Deputy Minister of Information; Dr. Ibrahim Al-Mutaa, Vice President for Academic Affairs; as well as several deans, academics, and researchers.<\/p>\n

The event featured three scholarly papers:<\/p>\n

Dr. Halima Jahaf presented a paper titled \u201cThe Nature of Conflict and Approaches to Confrontation According to the Qur\u2019anic Methodology,\u201d which explored the intellectual and cultural dimensions of conflict and approaches to addressing them through a scientific framework.<\/p>\n

Dr. Hamoud Al-Ahnoumi delivered a paper on \u201cThe Civilizational and Cultural Dimensions of Modern Conflicts,\u201d emphasizing the role of awareness in preserving identity and strengthening shared civilizational values.<\/p>\n

Dr. Arafat Al-Rumaymah presented \u201cThe Intellectual and Political Backgrounds of International Positions on Regional Issues,\u201d underscoring the importance of scientific analysis in understanding international policies and their impacts on societies.<\/p>\n

The symposium concluded with academic discussions from participating researchers, who emphasized the vital role of universities in promoting a culture of knowledge and awareness, and in fostering constructive intellectual dialogue grounded in scientific rigor and objectivity.<\/p>\n

This symposium aligns with Sana\u2019a University\u2019s vision to strengthen its pioneering role in fostering a culture of research and scholarly dialogue, and in encouraging academic initiatives that serve society and cultivate enlightened awareness based on critical and analytical thinking.<\/p>\n

Through such activities, the university reaffirms its commitment to its academic mission of advancing scientific research, consolidating the values of knowledge, and engaging constructively with humanitarian and civilizational issues\u2014thereby reinforcing its standing among Yemeni, Arab, and international universities.<\/p>\n
