Mr. Abdullah Ahmed Mohammed Al-Musaybi\u200e was awarded a PhD degree in International Development and Gender Studies for his dissertation titled: Crisis Management Strategy and Its Impact on Enhancing Institutional Performance Efficiency as an Approach to Sustainable Development in Yemen: : An Applied Study on the Yemen Oil Company, which was submitted to the Inclusive Development Research Center \u2013 Sana\u2019a University. The dissertation defense was held on Monday, January 05, 2026.<\/p>\n

The PhD Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:<\/p>\n

2. Assoc. Prof. Sukayna Ahmed Hashim Main Supervisor Member<\/p>\n

3. Dr. Fahd Mohammed Al-Ahmadi Internal Examiner Member<\/p>\n

The study aimed to analyze the impact of implementing an effective crisis management strategy on enhancing institutional performance efficiency, as an entry point to achieving sustainable development in Yemen, with the Yemen Oil Company serving as the applied case study.<\/p>\n

The study demonstrated that adopting a systematic crisis management strategy, represented by the Steve Fink crisis management model, contributes significantly to improving institutional performance efficiency.<\/p>\n

The model proved effective in absorbing sudden shocks and mitigating their severity through mechanisms of advance preparedness and creating an appropriate organizational environment. The findings also revealed a positive impact of improved institutional performance on strengthening the path toward sustainable development.<\/p>\n

In the light of these findings, the researcher recommended:<\/p>\n

\uf02d Adopting scientific and systematic crisis management strategies as a means of achieving operational stability, with consequent positive effects on institutional development, activity enhancement, community security, and economic and political systems.<\/p>\n

\uf02d Adopting this strategy across institutions in vital sectors in Yemen.<\/p>\n

The dissertation defense was attended by a number of academics, researchers, and specialists, students, colleagues, and the researcher\u2019s family.<\/p>\n
