Researcher Mona Ahmed Hamoud Al-Khaishani was awarded a Master\u2019s Degree in International Development and Gender for her thesis titled: The Impact of Psychological Stress on the Performance of Employees in Private Healthcare Institutions and Its Implications for Their Family Relationships: A Survey Study, which was submitted to the Inclusive Development Research Center\u2013 Sana\u2019a University. The MA defense was held on Saturdsay, August 8, 2026\u200e\u200e.<\/p>\n

The MA Viva-voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:

The study aimed to examine the impact of psychological stress on the performance of employees in private healthcare institutions across four dimensions: work-related stress, psychological and emotional stress, physical stress, and social stress. It also sought to identify the implications of such stress for family relationships across four dimensions: family communication, emotional support, family cohesion, and problem-solving.<\/p>\n

The study found that healthcare workers experienced varying levels of psychological stress across its different dimensions. Occupational stress was found to be at a moderate level, with several indicators reaching relatively high levels, including persistent muscle tension, sleep difficulties, insufficient institutional support, and time pressure.<\/p>\n

The study recommended developing professional and psychological support programs for employees, strengthening family support, improving workload management and shift scheduling, enhancing internal communication, and strengthening institutional support.
\nThe thesis defense was attended by faculty members, researchers, students, and interested participants as well as the researcher’s colleagues and family members.<\/p>\n
