Researcher Ibrahim Mohammed Othman Mohammed\u200e \u200ewas awarded a PhD degree in International Development \u200efor his dissertation titled: The Role of the Central Bank of Yemen in Developing a Financial Inclusion Strategy as a Means to Achieving Sustainable Development in Yemen, which was submitted to the Inclusive Development Research Center\u2013 Sana\u2019a University. The MA defense was held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.<\/p>\n

The PhD Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Prof. Mohammed Ali Saleh Al-Makardi \u2013 Thamar University \u2013 External Examiner and Chair of the Committee<\/p>\n

\u2022 Prof. Mohammed Mohammed Hizam Al-Qutaibi \u2013 Amran University \u2013 Principal Supervisor and Committee Member<\/p>\n

\u2022 Assoc. Prof. Elham Mohammed Ali Al-Rida \u2013 Sana\u2019a University \u2013 Internal Examiner and Committee Member<\/p>\n

The study aimed to identify the role of the Central Bank of Yemen in developing a financial inclusion strategy and assess the extent to which the financial inclusion strategy contributes to achieving sustainable development. It also sought to examine the Central Bank\u2019s contribution to sustainable development and the mediating role played by the financial inclusion strategy in the relationship between the role of the Central Bank and the achievement of sustainable development.<\/p>\n

The study produced several findings, most notably that the role of the Central Bank of Yemen was rated at a high level according to experts\u2019 assessments, while the financial inclusion strategy achieved a high level of agreement based on their evaluations.<\/p>\n

The findings also demonstrated that the Central Bank of Yemen, through the financial inclusion strategy, makes a significant contribution to achieving sustainable development. The study further established that the Central Bank plays a role in developing the financial inclusion strategy and that the strategy contributes to achieving sustainable development in Yemen.<\/p>\n

According to the study findings, economic empowerment of women and youth did not have a significant role in achieving sustainable development in Yemen. Likewise, Islamic microfinance was not found to have a significant role in achieving sustainable development.<\/p>\n

The study recommended that the Central Bank of Yemen adopt and further develop a financial inclusion strategy, given its importance as one of the key pillars for achieving sustainable development in Yemen.<\/p>\n

The defense session was attended by a number of academics, researchers, and postgraduate students, as well as the researcher\u2019s colleagues and family members.<\/p>\n
