Under the auspices of Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, President of Sana\u2019a University, \u200e\u200ethe Migration, Refugee, and IDP Studies Center at the University organized today a \u200especialized training event featuring a moot court on migration and asylum cases. The activity \u200einvolved students from the Faculty of Sharia and Law and was attended by faculty members \u200eas well as legal and humanitarian experts.\u200e<\/p>\n

The moot court aimed to provide students with practical experience in judicial procedures and \u200elitigation mechanisms. It also sought to raise awareness of issues related to asylum, \u200edisplacement, and human rights, thereby linking academic study with real-world practice.\u200e<\/p>\n

During the proceedings, students assumed the roles of judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, \u200ewitnesses, and defendants, presenting arguments and evidence within a simulated case \u200escenario inspired by real-life cases, ultimately delivering a mock judgment that reflected the \u200eprinciples of justice.\u200e<\/p>\n

Prof. Ahmed Ali Al-Emad, Director of the Center, emphasized, \u201cThe moot court represents \u200eone of the most effective modern educational methods, enabling students to simulate real \u200elegal environments, improve their professional skills, and prepare for careers in fields related \u200eto human rights and international humanitarian law.\u201d He praised the students\u2019 outstanding \u200eperformance, noting that the level they demonstrated \u201cwould usually require months of \u200etraining to achieve,\u201d and described their work as \u201ca legal artwork of which we are all proud.\u201d\u200e<\/p>\n

At the end of the event, Prof. Mohammed Saad Najad, the Dean of the Faculty of Sharia \u200eand Law, expressed his gratitude to the Center\u2019s administration for organizing such activities. \u200eHe affirmed that such activities contribute to promoting a culture of justice and human rights \u200eand highlight the pioneering role of the Center at Sana\u2019a University\u00a0in\u00a0this\u00a0field.<\/p>\n
